RYT Membership

Requirements

  • The first 200 training hours must come from the same school as multiple trainings cannot be combined to meet the 200 hour requirement.
  • All training hours can be completed with a registered or non-registered Yoga Alliance European Registry school.
  • Additional training does not have to be from the same school.

 Qualification: 250 hour or higher (up to 300hour)

 Qualification: 500 hour from (i.e. 200+300)

 Teaching hour: Minimum 6000 documented hours of teaching experience pre/post-graduation

The Master Yoga Teachers applications are assessed on an individual basis using a variety of criteria including prior education long standing teaching experience (over 25 years), knowledge, skills and status gained through working in the yoga industry, and community service.


Applicants that are published authors or have participated in CDs for the divulgation of Yoga and related disciplines, or hold a Master of Arts/Science in Yoga Studies or a Ph.D, or are initiated as Sannyasi or Swami, or are publicly known and recognised as Yoga Great Grand Masters, are regarded by the Yoga Alliance’s Review Team as more favourable candidates for the Master Teacher credential.

Members, non-members of the association and non-yoga individuals can apply


The Yoga Alliance Expert Teacher, a new designation for Consultants and Specialists is available to every yoga or non-yoga individuals with a high level of knowledge, skill or qualification/s in a specific field of expertise.With this designation, yoga teachers (RYT/ERYT) members and non-members of the association and ALL kind of experts in the yoga community, can participate.


The ET credential can be applied for as a stand-alone product or in combination with the CEAS - Continuing Education Accredited School. This will enable individuals to deliver internationally recognised Yoga Alliance European Registry’s courses that counts as Continuing Education activities for yoga teachers or other categories of professionals.
